New Eight Views of Japan (oban) 新日本八景

Series of 8 landscape prints (and 4 bijinga by Yamakawa Shuho) published by Bijutsusha of Tokyo. Two of the 8 prints were dated in 1927. Some prints had red approval seals and some black seals, and it is likely the red seal was earlier based on damage and repair to Kiso River keyblock and colour block wear. Definitely reprinted later at oban size, without publisher seals, and by a less skilled printer. This series was recarved in April 1931 at postcard size and again in 1974 at chuban size.
